Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a tool used by eye doctors to take very detailed scans or images of the inside of your eye (uses even more magnification than the microscope used at your eye exam). The OCT is like an ultrasound, but instead of using sound waves, it uses light to create high-resolution pictures. These scans help doctors detect and monitor conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease, often before you notice any symptoms. It’s quick, painless, and helps to keep your eyes healthy by catching problems early and allows for continued monitoring of ocular conditions.
